So obviously I lost my way a bit on the whole “updating everyday” thing…

But now that I have updated you with everything I have from over the past two weeks (which isn’t much) I plan on trying to get back to that original deal.

Sorry guys! I’ll try to get better!

Gaaaaaaaah, I loved this outfit! I loved how it just came together, everything just clicked at the last second, it made me so happy. I love vest with skirt looks and I never feel I can pull it off, so the fact that this worked made me so excited! I felt like I embraced Virginia while still maintaining my New York heart in this outfit, so overall, I enjoyed it.

The Vest: Guess $50, I have had this vest for a couple years now and I always pull it out and think huh. Its something that just constantly resurfaces and I always manage to find something to go with it. Denim in any other form than jeans is always a tad difficult to put in outfits without looking like you belong in a 90’s magazine ad. It should never be worn with denim jeans or anything that even resembles denim. There are a lot of rules you need to follow that ultimately make it work. In this outfit I really think it did, so I plan to try combinations like this in the future!

The Skirt: Forever 21 $25, I have this skirt in this color and navy blue and I love both of them! High waisted, it is flattering and the fact that it has that sort of parachute bottom makes sure that when you are walking down the quad and the wind hits, its not going anywhere. The only issue I have with this skirt are finding tops to go with it, not because of its color, but the style. I almost always try on every tank and top I own with it and come back to the same old white one, so hopefully something I can do in the future is find more that goes with it!

The Boots: Steve Madden

The Necklace: Purchased at a jewelry show I went to over break, I love this necklace. You cant really see it in these pictures so I will write about it again in the future when you can more, but I love the length and the simplicity to it. Its classy and fun!

This was an extreeeeeeeeeeemely lazy outfit on my part.

The Shirt: Was given to my sister 2 christmas’s ago and I steal it lots. She never wears it so why not!

The Scarf: I got from a jewelry party that my best friend’s aunt held!

This outfit was pretty boring and unimpressive. Sorry!

This was an outfit that I soooooort of wore already but not as well nor did I really get to take pictures of it for this blog! So here it is, the full outfit, super casual but hipster/lazy cute.

The Shirt: Macy’s $25, I got this shirt the Wednesday of Thanksgiving Break when it was on pre-black friday clearance. Its technically an XS Men’s shirt, which is why it fits a little big in certain areas and does indeed look like a Men’s shirt! I love it, its really comfy.

The Leggings: Victoria’s Secret $35

The Boots: Aldo $90

The Watch: Given to me by an ex, this watch is from a lovely store in Virginia called Charming Charlie’s! Its an accessories store and I simply love it. This watch goes with everything, gold and white, and I wear it preeeeeetty frequently.

This was a risk outfit! -OoOoOo- I decided to wear a lot of color combinations and such which usually I stray away from, but here are the results!

The Sweater: dELiA*s

The Shirt: Wet Seal $25, I got it at clearance and employee discount for $10 at the time!

The Skirt: H&M $15, My go-to black skirt

Tights: Macy’s $20

The Boots: Hunter $100, My mama got me these last winter, she shipped them to me as a present when I had no idea what Hunter Boots were, at JMU they are EVERYWHERE and I completely understand why. You could be standing is a pool of water and not know it if you were wearing these babies. They are REALLY cute and fantastic in the rain and snow. If you are looking for a sturdy, long lasting pair of boots, I highly recommend these.

Lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy. Today I spent my day at the library, for a creative team meeting for a project im involved in and then to “study” which became “watch glee and then trip down the stairs” (dont worry about it).

The Shirt: WalMart $15, Okay, so this was the first shirt I ever purchased from Walmart. I had bought it when I needed some simple colored clothing for headshots and though I did not wear it for the headshots, I love it. Its really comfortable and yet still pretty cute. The buttons make it seem a tad less lazy and it overall fits a bit big so your not being squeezed as you wear it. Ultimately I am very happy with this cheap buy!

The Pants: Aerie $35, Yoga pants are always a win and I have two pairs from Aerie that I love. They really are Yoga pants intended to be worked out in and while I can and do in fact do that, they are also just perfect lounging pants. I love the two-toned pull over band, navy blue on the outside, emerald green on the inside. It makes them just that cuter. They are a really thick, warm material but when yo go to work out in them they breathe really well. I love these and wore them today with the belief I would be changing shirts/bras later to go work out (which I cancelled after I fell down the stairs and bruised my entire inner thigh).

Comfy clothes rock, end of story.

This morning was a very cool, exciting morning for me! I got to talk to prospective theatre students for JMU and escort them to and from their auditions, trying to make them feel comfortable and answering any questions they had! It was for this reason I decided to try and go for a chic business but also young look. Parents would be there so you want to look professional and represent the school well, but you also want the students to feel that you are like them, because ultimately, we are what they would like to become.

The Blazer: Granny Long Legs $5, No I am NOT lying about the price. This past thursday I went thrifting with two of my good friends. I’ve been looking for a good black blazer for the longest time. They are all just so expensive! But I think the blazer look is super sexy so obviously, I needed one! I was searching through this thrift store in downtown Harrisonburg when I found this gleaming beacon of hope in the Petit section and BOY did I strike gold. I am in love with this and I am wearing it forever. Thats all.

The Jeans: Express $40, I’m not sure if you guys have seen these skinny jeans of mine yet, but like most of my jeans they are from Express! I’m not a huge fan of “black” jeans, so these charcoal colored ones are a really good compromise for me and go with TONS of outfits. As time has gone on they have stretched a bit in the waist so now they are a bit loose, but thats really my only complaint.

The Heels: Steve Madden $60, I love these booties so. much. The color is really vibrant and surprisingly works with quite a bit of outfits. I love the look of booties and skinny jeans and the color of the shoes goes perfectly with the dark wash of these. The heel is not very high in these, but they make your legs look longer and thus are really comfortable shoes to wear for long periods of time. This morning when I did not sit for 5 hours, my feet did not hurt.

The Earrings: Accessorize $20, I got these from a fairly new jewelry store chain that is similar to Claire’s and I love them. They are really unique looking, whenever I wear them people want to know where I got them. They also are REALLY flexible in being able to be dressed up and down which is not usually the case with costume jewelry.

I think I am going to find more reasons on a daily basis to wear chic business apparel and there is a good chance you will be seeing this outfit again sometime this week, I JUST LOVE BLAZERS AND BOOTIES! -excitement-

I went through probably a billion outfits today so unfortunately I dont have much for you because it was so hectic I wasn’t actually able to photograph myself in the outfit, but regardless, here is what I wore to see Richard III performed at the American Shakespeare Theatre Blackfriars!

The Top: Wet Seal $20, Honestly this is probably one of my favorite tops of all time, I always circle back to it because it so cute, comfy and simple! It looks a lot better on then on the hanger, but the elastic at the bottom of the shirt makes it parachute a little which is REALLY helpful on days that you feel a bit bloated because you can just blame it on the shirt! As I tried to show in the pictures, the lace detailing on the shirt is just great and even though I have worn/washed this shirt 100 times, the lace still looks perfect. All in all, you guys will definitely get to see this shirt on me in the future.

The Boots: Steve Madden, I got these for Christmas almost 3 or 4 years ago now and I STILL love them. They are super neutral so they basically go with anything and everything, and all though you can see the scoffs I’ve made from being the clumsiest person in the world on the shoes, they still wear REALLY well. I’m just a clumsy customer.

Gaaaaah, I love this dress! This was a very urban outfit that I’ve had in my mind for a while now. It was a really cold day, and yet I really was pretty comfortable! The tights kept me warm, the cloth of the dress retained heat well and the boots are great for having to walk across campus.

The Dress: ModCloth $60, This was one of the first ModCloth dresses I bought and I absolutely adore it. The colors are extremely bright the the pattern is completely unique and interesting. I’m usually not a fan of any attention towards the shoulders of shirts or dresses but the synching at the sleeves on this dress I like! Because my body proportions are weird (my legs are too long and my torso too short), this dress is a tad short which is why I always wear tights with it, however the material is still great.

The Tights: Express $20, These were in part of my black friday purchases this past thanksgiving and I LOVE them. The floral pattern is so well sewn and intricate but I can ALWAYS find things to wear them with. They are also extremely warm despite the fishnet quality of them.

The Earrings: My best friend Gina got me these for christmas because of my previously mentioned OBSESSION with owls. I love how they made this outfit pop just a bit more.

The Boots: Aldo $90

This outfit went over really well and perfectly depicted my style :) Hopefully i’ll have some outfits like it in the next week!
